like Down Syndrome, Rett Syndrome, ect. that now, for the most part, are detectable in utero & are often aborted if detected, are suffering the most in the long run?
Do you think it’s hindering research to find cures for said problems & many more because more & more people are opting to abort before the baby is even born & so awareness of these ailments is still relatively slim.
I’m not against abortion (though it’s not something I would do personally) Im just wondering what other people think about this.
Also, do you agree that more people empathize with children with conditions then teens & adults with the same condition?

Children have their life ahead of them, and people feel they can be molded into something great. Once full grown, especially if they’re disabled, they’re sadly seen has nothing more then a hindrance to society. That they can’t be helped or nothing more can be done for them.
But down syndrome and the other you mentioned are hereditary, it can run in families. However, there are other people’s kids who developed such diseases because they went through hoops with fertilization treatments and what not to have the kid. Or they made bad lifestyle choices. Some things we do to our own children. Personally I’ve been trying to take care of myself now because I want the best chance of having healthy children. Some things are out of our hands, and there is a reason to everything. The things people actually DO that cause birth defects and abnormalities are easily preventable.
I’m sure there would be people if they could know ahead of time they would abort, which I don’t believe they should but they would do it.
