I’m 21 this year. I started taking prednisone in late 2006 to treat ulcerative colitis. During this time I had developed a lot of disorders caused by prednisone side effects. these include joint pain, hair loss, facial hair growth, fattening of face and neck, mood swing, and bruising on the legs that would not cure for long time.

I stopped taking prednisone in late 2007 and had not taken it again since then. now it’s been nearly 2 years since i got off prednisone but some of those synptoms still exist on me. i still frequently have joint pain, and there are still a few bruises on my legs that i got from those days and still hadn’t cured.. and my face is still slightly bloated around the lower cheek, even though the neck had slimmed down.. and my facial hair still grows at a very rapid rate. but my ulcerative colitis has flared up a few times since i stopped prednisone.

i recently learnt about Cushing’s syndrome and realised that my symptoms seem to remsemble the disorder. but I don’t know what I can do to treat it. most of the websites out there emphasise on stopping prednisone intake, but i’ve already stopped taking it. what else should i do? any ideas?

Cushing’s syndrome treatment?

I was recently diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis (bv) and am on antibiotics (metrogel) for treatment. I know that antibiotics can cause other problems and even lead to other infections like yeast infections afterwards- the doctor did not give me anything to take for yeast afterwards. I was wondering if anyone has taken treatment for bv and successfully avoideded a yeast infection afterwards or if i am doomed to have one.

How common is a yeast infection after treatment for bacterial vaginosis?

I have seen that drug stores sell miconazole and tioconazole over the counter to treat yeast infections. Is one better than the other? Thanks.

i ordered a yeast infection treatment kit online, and i just got my period today. The treatment kit should come in two days. Will it still work if you use it with your period? or shall i wait untill after the cycle is over? It’s the kind of treatment with the applicator

Can you use a yeast infection treatment while you’re on your period?

I had a yeast infection and then took one of those 1 day treatment things. after 2 days my symptoms were gone. but now its been 5 days and i have this very strange odor and im pretty wet, and the discharge is a little yellow but not like very prominent? its not bad really, just not normal. is it from the medication still draining out or in there or something? could the treatment have given me BV or something? help!

Is it safe to use a yeast infection treatment like Monistat while on the pill?

Last night before i went to sleep was the first night I used the 7 day yeast infection treatment. When I pulled the applicator out of me, I saw a vertical line of fresh blood. After the morning, I noticed pink spotting ever since. Whats going on? Has this ever happend to anyone else?

Why am I spotting while on yeast infection treatment?

I was wondering, I just had cryotherapy 5 days ago and I’m not supposed to use tampons or have intercourse, but I think i’m developing a yeast infection. Can I use a treatment for yeast infections that require insertion of a “syringe” type thing that inserts the yeast infection cream into the vagina? Or should I get something else?

I was just reading the directions for the 3 days yeast infection treatment and it says not to have sexual intercourse while using this treatment because it could damage the condom, so i was just wondering if anyone knew how long you have to wait after you’ve used it for the three days, or if you can just not have sex while your using it?

How long do you have to wait to have sex after using a over-the-counter yeast infection treatment?

I havent been to the doctor and been formally diagnosed, but I have what I believe to be a yeast infection, so today I purchased a three day treatment (I took the first dose about nine hours ago and the itching is relieved), however when is it safe to start habing sex again? Should I wait two weeks or can I do it on the first day I am done with the med and symptom free? Thanks!!
